What it does

Josh Madison's Convert changes units for distance, temperature, volume, speed, mass, power, density, pressure, energy, and other quantities. Custom conversions can also be added.

Choose a category tab and source/destination units, then type a value for live output and clipboard copying. Up to 20 custom conversions use a multiplier and work in both directions; conversions requiring an offset, such as temperature scales, need the appropriate built-in model. The Windows application runs without an installer. Linux/Unix use is described through Wine.

Strengths

  • Allows custom conversions alongside common measurement categories.

Best for

  • Quick recurring unit conversions on a Windows desktop
