What it does
jsreport is a reporting platform with a browser designer, JavaScript templating, and PDF, Excel, DOCX, HTML, or CSV outputs. Reports can be rendered through a REST API, CLI, or SDK.
Render a stored template with data, or send its content, engine and output recipe in the request. The Chrome PDF recipe controls page size, ranges, backgrounds and margins; asynchronous charts may need an explicit ready-to-print trigger. A report name sets the downloaded filename. The free self-hosted licence permits five stored templates, including commercial use; fully specified inline requests do not use that allowance. Enterprise licences cover one instance, Scale covers multiple, and perpetual purchases include six months of updates. Paid support is separate.
Strengths
- Combines a browser designer with several report formats and rendering interfaces.
Watch out for
- Free self-hosted use permits five stored templates; paid-instance, update and support terms need separate selection.
Best for
- Applications and teams generating recurring reports
