What it does
Just Another Foundry publishes original typefaces by Tim Ahrens and Shoko Mugikura, including JAF Bernini, Domus, Facit and Lapture. Its site offers specimens, demo fonts and direct licensing.
JAF Bernini is a useful starting point for a newspaper or long-form website because its five subfamilies distinguish Text, Headline, Display and condensed roles. Compare the same story title and paragraph across those designs. The complete family includes variable fonts, while the PDF specimen gives more detailed showings of the individual styles.
The Buy page separates Desktop, Web and App files. Choose a user tier for desktop fonts or monthly pageviews and a domain for webfonts. Web coverage allows a wildcard pattern for related domain names; unrelated sites need a separate arrangement. Desktop files are OTF, webfonts are WOFF2, and app files are TTF. All three licence types use a one-off fee for permanent coverage, and the app option does not limit app titles or downloads.
Try opens the demo-font page. Its files retain the fonts’ features for private evaluation, but public use requires a purchased licence. The shop also states that it cannot sell to UK customers without VAT registration, a practical restriction to check before building a project around the catalog.
