What it does

Kaiko provides crypto market feeds, valuation data, indexes and analytics for business users. Data subscriptions are priced by quotation, with the assets, granularity, delivery method and intended use shaping the contract.

A valuation report, a liquidity study and a live monitoring system need different inputs. Define the exchanges, instruments, time resolution and historical period first, then match those requirements to Kaiko’s data products. Its reference-rate and index products serve different purposes from individual trades or order-book observations.

For software delivery, each market-data request needs an API key in the X-Api-Key header. Request JSON output and use UTC timestamps for the start and end of the period. When a result includes next_url, follow that link to retrieve the following page. Set page_size on the first request; subsequent pages use the continuation token. Stopping after one response can leave a historical dataset incomplete.

Kaiko’s quote depends on coverage, data type, granularity, live versus historical delivery and usage. Its standard terms allow internal business use and limited customer display, but restrict redistribution that substitutes for a data license. Commercializing a derived customer-facing product requires additional consent and terms. The contract also includes a maintenance and connectivity fee.

For occasional reading, the separate free Research account offers reports and downloadable charts. That account is useful for exploring Kaiko’s analysis, but does not establish entitlement to a commercial data feed.

Strengths

  • Live streaming can combine several instruments in one connection
  • The product range includes valuation and benchmark data alongside raw feeds
  • Streaming parameters include calculation frequency and channel selection

Watch out for

  • Standard terms constrain customer redistribution and commercialization
  • Live-stream replay provides only limited historical data

Best for

  • Data teams specifying licensed crypto feeds
  • Businesses integrating market data into internal reporting
