What it does

KBC Mobile uses its Kate assistant to find standing orders and other account tasks. Customers can review recurring instructions, change payment details and confirm an order in the app. Belgian account options include paid adult packages and a free account for ages 10 to 24.

Set the schedule, then confirm it

Open a conversation with Kate in KBC Mobile and ask for standing orders. The overview lets you create, view or modify instructions. For a new order, choose the recipient, paying account, amount and due date, adding a start or end date where relevant. Review the summary, then confirm with your PIN, fingerprint or face recognition.

Kate helps locate the task; the standing-order overview holds the payment instruction. Related guides cover direct debits, documents and card limits.

Current account choices

Account Monthly fee Debit cards included
Basic €2.50 One
Plus €4.25 Two
Young person’s account, ages 10 to 24 Free Two

An additional Basic debit card costs €0.75 monthly. Basic counter cash withdrawals cost €2 each; Plus includes them. A Basic account held by exactly the same person as an existing Plus account is free.

Opening from Belgium or abroad

Adults can apply online using itsme. A parent or legal guardian must open an account for a minor. Existing KBC customers add the child to their family details first; a parent who is new to KBC starts at a branch.

An applicant without Belgian citizenship or a permanent Belgian address can still apply online. After arriving in Belgium, they must visit the branch with their ID and residence permit to sign and collect the debit card.

Strengths

  • Standing orders include a review and explicit confirmation step
  • Free youth account continues through age 24
  • Applications can begin before moving to Belgium

Watch out for

  • Minors need a parent or guardian to open their account
  • Applicants arriving from abroad must complete a branch visit
  • Basic charges separately for counter cash withdrawals

Best for

  • KBC customers managing recurring Belgian payments
  • Families opening supervised youth accounts
