What it does

Kenjo connects shift planning, time tracking, absence, payroll preparation, employee files, and recruiting. Managers can fill shifts directly or offer them for employee applications, then publish the roster to the team.

Open Shiftplan > Schedules, select a calendar cell or Add Shift, and enter the time, enabled location and role. Save a named assignment or an open shift, choosing approval or automatic assignment for applicants. Saved shifts stay private to managers until published. Select Publish, choose the period and notification setting, then confirm the assignment summary. Editing published shifts uses the pencil control; drag-and-drop reassignment works only before publication.

Package differences

Plan Main scope
Starter Shift planning, payroll preparation, documents, standard workflows and reporting
Growth Adds electronic signing, onboarding, advanced workflows and custom permissions
Connect Adds integrations, bulk operations, training tracking and advanced planning controls

Monthly and annual subscriptions are offered, with Connect priced by quote. The free trial runs for 14 days; its registration asks for a name, work email and company. Trial accounts are deleted after expiry unless upgraded.

Check the contracted employee minimum before inviting staff. Billing begins when an invitation is sent, and reductions cannot take charges below that minimum. Custom publication ranges of up to 31 days require Connect v4 or a delivery-service-partner plan; week and month publication remain available across plans.

Strengths

  • Open shifts can require approval or go to the first applicant
  • Draft schedules stay hidden until managers publish them

Watch out for

  • Custom publication date ranges are restricted to specified plans
  • Employee invitations start billing, subject to a contracted minimum

Best for

  • Operational teams managing rosters and open-shift applications
