What it does

BookletImposer supplies graphical and command-line PDF imposition. It creates booklet order, reverses booklet order, and places several pages on one sheet.

Assemble the source PDF first, because BookletImposer cannot merge several files. Select that PDF, choose booklet, reverse-booklet or multi-up conversion, then set layout, output paper size and destination before applying. A repeated-page option makes several copies of the same input on an output sheet. The project describes GNU/Linux as tested and portability to other Python systems more cautiously; its hosted manual is older, so current platform compatibility should be verified separately.
