Ask SI about Klassiki

Answers use saved listing facts and recorded sources.

What it does

Klassiki offers a paid film library with ad-free viewing, programme notes, interviews and supported offline downloads.

Klassiki focuses on cinema from Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, with programme notes and interviews for context. Its official FAQ lists UK and US availability, while individual-film notices can be narrower. Check the film before joining.

Films have English subtitles selected through CC. Use a web browser for the Journal and Library editorial pages, which the FAQ says are absent from the app. Supported apps provide viewing and advertised downloads; check the particular title and device for offline use. Cancellation is under Subscriptions in the member area.

Strengths

Programme notes and interviews support contextual film discovery.

Watch out for

Service and individual-film rights are limited by country; some film notices are narrower than the UK/US service offer.

Evidence

The official FAQ adds UK/US eligibility, English-subtitle controls, browser-only editorial sections and account cancellation to app/download outputs, supporting75. Its dated document and incomplete offline/setup details constrain a higher band.

Limits: AI review of saved source passages. No hands-on test, human approval or automatic-provider checker receipt.
