What it does
Komodo Wallet combines crypto wallet management with peer-to-peer exchange across supported blockchains. Its atomic-swap exchange can trade native assets, including Bitcoin, without first converting them into wrapped tokens. Web, desktop and mobile versions are available. You control the wallet recovery phrase, and swaps carry trading and network costs.
Creating the web wallet
From Connect wallet, choose Connect Komodo Wallet seed, then Create wallet. Set a wallet name and password, accept the displayed licence and terms, and create it. Back up the recovery phrase offline before using real funds. Komodo says it cannot restore an account if the user loses the necessary wallet data.
The terms require legal capacity and an age of at least 18. They also require lawful use of the software. Wallet access does not establish eligibility for a separate payment provider or other linked service.
Taking an existing offer
Open DEX and select the asset under Sell coin. The available balance reserves enough for estimated network and exchange fees. Enter an amount or use 50% or Max, then select Buy coin.
The order book shows prices alongside available amounts. The first price may not have enough volume for the whole swap, so the amount matters as well as the rate. Swap now opens the review screen; Confirm starts the trade. Leave the browser tab open until completion, even if it runs in the background.
These are per-swap costs, with the estimate shown before confirmation. A free wallet interface does not make the exchange transaction free. Settlement time depends on the selected pair and its blockchains, and price changes or transaction errors can cause losses.
