What it does
KRESKA.art is a free browser painting app with pressure-aware brushes, layers and a reference overlay. Auto-colour can sample a reference while you paint.
Hold Peek to see the reference over your drawing; release it to resume painting. Moving towards the image while peeking activates colour picking. A separate preview panel can keep the reference visible throughout a study.
Brushes can paint, erase or blend. Alpha lock confines later marks to painted areas, while a lasso defines harder boundaries. Reference-based auto-colour lets you practise stroke placement without choosing every colour manually.
Save a .kreska project to keep the work outside browser storage. Clearing that storage removes unsaved drawings. PSD export offers a handoff, while PSD import supports basic files. No account is required, and the terms leave ownership of your creations with you.
Strengths
- Reference viewing and colour sampling sit beside the painting controls.
- Native project and PSD saving support continued editing.
Watch out for
- PSD import supports basic documents.
- Clearing browser storage removes unsaved work.
Best for
- Observational painting in a browser
