What it does
Kulturpool brings together images, texts, sound, video and 3D material held by Austrian museums, libraries and archives. It helps researchers and designers discover objects across institutions and follow links to the original collection records.
Search by a name, place or subject, then narrow the results by institution, date, creator or object type. Quotation marks keep a phrase exact; a minus sign excludes a word. Media type separates images from text, video, sound and 3D material.
Set Can I use it? to Yes to find material with rights permitting reuse, or choose the options for conditional use and permission requests. A record can contain more than one rights statement, so check the particular image’s conditions.
See original appears in an object’s sidebar or full view and opens the holding institution’s catalogue. Kulturpool itself does not deliver the partner’s files: that institution determines whether a download exists, its format and its quality.
