What it does
Gifsicle is a command-line tool for GIF images and animations, supporting frame extraction, insertion, deletion and replacement.
Combine GIF inputs into a new animation with chosen delay and looping, or extract a selected frame into another GIF. Replace, delete or insert frames when repairing a sequence. The -b batch option edits in place, unlike examples that redirect output to a new file. Information output and transparency/palette controls help inspect the result. The freely available project includes gifview and gifdiff; linked platform ports have separate maintainers and compatibility details.
Strengths
- Frame-level editing and extraction
- Looping, delay and transparency controls
