What it does
Azure Pricing Calculator estimates planned Azure consumption using service configurations, regions, usage quantities and pricing options.
Azure's calculator builds a multi-service estimate from region, product type/tier, consumption and payment assumptions. Replace defaults with the intended usage: the guide's VM example starts at 730 hours and changes the estimate when reduced to 200. Results can split upfront and monthly costs. Export writes an Excel file; Save retains progress, Save as renames a saved estimate, and Share creates a link that others can view while only the owner edits. Product deletion and Delete all cannot be undone. Retail estimates use Azure Retail Prices API data; negotiated prices require the relevant signed-in licensing program and billing permissions. The guide also says Partner Earned Credit is not estimated automatically. Preserve the agreement and usage basis when comparing scenarios.
Strengths
- Multi-service configurations and usage-based estimates
- Export and saved-estimate features
Watch out for
- Agreement-specific estimates require appropriate signed-in access
Best for
- Comparing Azure consumption scenarios
