What it does

Learn UI Design is Erik Kennedy’s course and resource library for designing interfaces. It combines video lessons, Figma resources and community or mentor-feedback material around visual design skills.

Watch a lesson, complete its exercise and post your work to the student community for feedback. The course includes 54 lessons covering color, typography, layout, components and related visual-design decisions. Figma is used for demonstrations, though the instructor says you can work in another design app.

The separate Live Redesign Vault contains narrated redesigns of student submissions, organized by color, fonts, brand and platform. This gives you examples to revisit when a particular design problem comes up. Enrolled students receive the whole video series, resources and community invitation rather than waiting for weekly lessons.

Enrollment currently starts with Apply Now. The linked form asks about your role, design goals, current difficulty and a portfolio or project link. The site says the next general enrollment date has not been scheduled, so an application is the route to asking about immediate access.

The course is a one-time purchase with lifetime access and updates; a six-payment installment option is advertised. A sample lesson and other free tutorials are available before enrolling. The seller offers a refund by email within 30 days. This course focuses on visual interface design; the more extensive interaction-design and user-research curriculum belongs to the separate Learn UX Design course.

Strengths

  • Community feedback covers homework and learners’ own projects.
  • The redesign vault can be explored by color, fonts, brand and platform.

Watch out for

  • New learners currently apply for access rather than using a scheduled open enrollment.
  • Detailed user-research and interaction-design training belongs to a separate course.

Best for

  • Learners developing visual interface-design skills through practice
