What it does

LeaveBoard combines employee leave booking, balances, shared calendars and workforce records. Managers review requests with overlap and allowance information, while administrators can cover for an absent approver. A free plan supports up to nine employees, with Pro and Enterprise options for larger teams.

After activating the email invitation, use the dashboard's Book Time Off card. Choose the leave type, duration and dates, add a comment and check the balance and overlaps before booking and confirming. The manager receives an email, and the request appears in the calendar and leave history.

Managers open Pending approval requests or Leaves to approve, inspect the details and approve or decline with a comment. Administrators can act for an unavailable manager through Reports, Leaves. Each employee has one approver; a second manager can receive notifications but does not become another approval stage.

Plans

Plan Main scope
Free Up to nine employees; leave tracking, directory, calendars and reports
Pro Unlimited users, advanced leave policies and priority support
Enterprise Intended for more than 81 employees; adds an account manager

Paid access is offered monthly or yearly, with a fourteen-day trial. Setup and employee-data import assistance are available. Reports can export absence information for payroll or team planning.

Strengths

  • Managers see overlap and remaining-allowance details when deciding
  • Administrators can approve on behalf of an unavailable manager

Watch out for

  • Each employee has one approver, without multilevel approval
  • The free plan stops at nine employees

Best for

  • Small businesses combining leave administration with employee records
