What it does
lftp is a command-line transfer program with FTP, HTTP, SFTP, FISH and torrent support, job control, bookmarks and a built-in mirror command.
A recurring directory delivery is a good reason to use lftp's mirror command rather than issue individual uploads. Parallel transfers and job control also help with a queue of independent files. The interface follows shell conventions and uses readline, so this is a terminal workflow. The maintainer says available support time is limited, a relevant consideration for teams that need prompt help with uncommon server behavior.
Strengths
- Built-in directory mirroring
- Parallel transfers and shell-style job control
Watch out for
- The maintainer reports limited time for support
Best for
