What it does

LibreShot is Martin Vorel’s free stock-photo library, with architecture, nature, people, technology and other categories. Photographs can be used commercially without attribution. The collection includes Prague, travel scenes and close-up photography, with captions and shooting details on individual pages.

Photo pages can offer Free Download Full Size and a smaller version. The City Seagulls in Prague page, for example, offers an 861-pixel option alongside the original. Its caption identifies the location near Charles Bridge, and EXIF details record the camera and exposure. Tags and related photographs help find more from the same place or subject.

Download the file and host it with your project: LibreShot prohibits hotlinking to its image files. Its terms also prohibit bulk redistribution through a similar stock library.

The site uses CC0 but does not require a written model release for every identifiable person. A free download therefore does not guarantee permission for every advertising context.

Strengths

  • The named photographer provides subject captions and camera details
  • Full-size and smaller downloads are offered on image pages

Watch out for

  • Identifiable people are not necessarily covered by model releases
  • Hotlinking and mass redistribution through a similar stock site are prohibited

Best for

  • Editors researching place and subject photography from a named creator
