What it does
Lightyear offers stocks, ETFs and other investments through web and mobile accounts. Fractional holdings let users invest a cash amount in supported assets. Plans group holdings around a goal and can automate purchases using chosen percentage allocations.
Lightyear separates US, European and UK securities from ETFs and money market funds. Keep the instrument and listing in view when comparing similar names. Its multi-currency account holds GBP, EUR and USD, reducing the need to convert money for every purchase.
To organize holdings, go to Portfolio and choose Create a Plan below the investment list. Add investments, name the plan and, if wanted, turn on Auto-invest with an amount and frequency. Allocations must total 100%. Non-fractional instruments appear under Auto investing unavailable and need separate purchases. Review the proposed holdings and schedule before confirming. Removing a holding through Edit Plan moves it back to the account without selling it; order results appear in Transactions.
The Spain pricing page lists no account fee or ETF execution and custody fees, although fund expenses remain. US shares cost 0.1% per order, with a US$0.10 minimum and US$1 maximum; UK shares cost £1, and euro-denominated shares cost €1. Currency conversion adds 0.35%. Check the local fee page for other instruments and payment methods.
Personal accounts require age 18 or over and residence in a supported country, including Slovenia. US citizens and US tax residents are excluded. Registration may require identity and address documents. Joint accounts and accounts opened for a child are unavailable.
