What it does

Link Whisper is a WordPress plugin for contextual internal-link suggestions, orphan-page reporting and link management. Free access provides suggestions and health reporting; Premium adds bulk insertion, auto-linking and broader management tools.

Link Whisper suggests related pages from inside the WordPress editor. The free plugin provides suggestions and a report of incoming, outgoing and external links, including posts with no incoming internal links. With free access, you copy a suggested link and paste it into the article yourself.

Premium adds bulk insertion, automatic-linking rules and fuller broken-link reports. Settings can ignore words or phrases that produce poor suggestions. This is helpful when a common phrase on your site should not always point to the same page.

Licence and AI usage

Choose a Premium licence by the number of WordPress sites you need to activate. AI-powered suggestions and repairs use a separate Link Whisper AI credit balance. In WordPress, open Link Whisper > AI Subscription to see credits, purchase options and usage history. The current system uses these credits rather than a personal OpenAI key.

During Premium setup, Scan Site builds initial reports. Scan & Link Site also starts AI linking and needs sufficient credits. Begin with reports if you want to inspect orphan pages and link distribution before making changes.

Strengths

  • Provides free link suggestions and link-health reporting in WordPress.
  • Created links remain ordinary editable links after plugin removal.

Watch out for

  • Requires a WordPress installation that permits plugins.
  • Premium site licences and AI usage credits are separate purchases or allowances.

Best for

  • WordPress editors maintaining contextual internal links across existing content
