LOBSTR distinguishes account access from the wallet backup. In the mobile app, Create Account asks for a username and a passkey saved through a supported password manager. Then Create Wallet leads through recovery-phrase backup and confirmation. The web route instead verifies an email before wallet creation. A new Stellar wallet also needs the network’s 1 XLM reserve.

A username identifies a passkey account but cannot recover it. The passkey provider must support the encryption extension LOBSTR requires; the current help page lists Apple Passwords, Google Password Manager and 1Password, while excluding several other managers. Keep access to the saved passkey as well as the wallet phrase.

Long-standing Stellar users face a separate migration issue. Legacy server-key storage was deprecated on July 10, 2026. The migration preserves the Stellar address but creates a new device-held signer and twelve-word phrase, makes the old ten-word code invalid and requires an additional 0.5 XLM reserve. Read the complete migration guide before proceeding: the change is irreversible, and recovery outside LOBSTR can require both the old and new secret keys.

For Stellar swaps, choose You Sell and You Buy, enter an amount and inspect the permitted price movement under slippage tolerance. Liquidity source selects Stellar Classic or eligible Aquarius pools. Published wallet fees depend on the purchased asset category: 0.5% for Featured assets, 0.6% Curated, 0.8% Known, 1% Unknown and 15% for assets flagged as Scam. Loyalty discounts have separate conditions. A lower charge does not make an asset trustworthy.

Off-network Withdraw is another operation, available only when the token issuer supports it. LOBSTR quotes 1% or the equivalent of 1 USDC, whichever is higher, with qualifying loyalty exceptions and possible partner charges. Thin markets and changing token prices can produce losses even when a transaction completes.
