What it does
LocalCoinSwap provides a peer-to-peer crypto marketplace and on-chain escrow tools. Buyers and sellers agree on a payment method and offer terms; account access excludes listed jurisdictions, including India and Russia.
LocalCoinSwap's marketplace starts with an offer search. Choose the asset and payment method, compare available offers and read the trader's conditions before requesting a trade. The offer defines the exchange rate, amount, payment window and payment method. Those terms cannot be changed after the trade starts.
A trade chat opens when a request is made. After the vendor accepts, the seller funds escrow, which locks the cryptocurrency while payment is arranged. The buyer pays the seller through the agreed local payment method; the seller then releases the crypto after receiving payment. Keep the conversation and payment receipts within the trade. If a problem arises, the dispute process lets either party request assistance. Escrow does not remove counterparty risk or make a bank payment reversible.
The platform's fee depends on your role. Creating an offer costs 1% for each completed trade; accepting a vendor's existing offer has no platform trading fee. Account registration and crypto deposits are free. Bitcoin withdrawals carry network costs, while Ethereum and its tokens incur gas costs. The schedule lists one free USDT withdrawal on Tron per day. Compare the offered exchange rate as well as the platform charge, since each trader chooses their price.
An account is required, and individual users must be at least 18. The terms exclude citizens, residents and people accessing the service from listed restricted jurisdictions. India, Russia, Belarus, Iran and several other countries are on that list. Identity and address documents can be requested for disputes, suspicious activity or regulatory requests; registration is not a promise that verification will never be needed.
LocalCoinSwap describes its infrastructure as non-custodial. Users remain responsible for backing up their private keys, which the company says it cannot recover. Before releasing crypto, a seller must independently confirm the full payment in their own payment account. A buyer's screenshot alone is not confirmation, and released crypto cannot be recovered through the trade's dispute process.
