What it does

Lookback supports moderated and unmoderated remote user research with recordings, transcripts and shared findings. Colleagues can watch sessions, chat and mark useful moments without joining the participant conversation. A 60-day trial includes five sessions; paid plans are annual and add exports.

Keep feedback connected to the recording

Lookback's live stakeholder view separates observers' notes and chat from the participant's conversation. After the session, annotations, Findings and Reels collect selected moments. Discover can answer questions across a project's sessions and link its answers to recording timestamps. AI suggestions are labelled and can be reviewed or removed.

Annual plans and session allowances

A session usually means one recorded interaction with a participant. Recruitment fees and participant incentives are separate costs; included panel allocations cover recruitment fees only. Bringing your own participants is allowed without a recruitment charge.

Start a trial to run up to five sessions over 60 days without a credit card. Exports are unavailable during the trial, and recruitment requires separate approval. Paid subscriptions have annual commitments rather than monthly billing.

Strengths

  • Stakeholders can watch and annotate without interrupting the participant
  • Findings can link directly to recording timestamps
  • Paid plans allow additional session packages

Watch out for

  • The trial excludes exports and has a five-session limit
  • Paid plans require an annual commitment
  • Panel recruitment allocations do not include participant incentives

Best for

  • Teams conducting and sharing remote qualitative studies
