What it does
Lucas Chess provides computer opponents and chess-training options with different strengths. It can use additional engines that support UCI.
Choose an opponent that lets you practice rather than simply lose quickly. The program offers controls for thinking time, analysis depth, starting positions and assistance. Those options make it useful for a tailored session, while an engine’s listed rating should not be read as an exact prediction of your results.
Strengths
- Adjustable engine play
- Custom starting positions and openings
Best for
- Practicing chess against a configurable computer opponent
