What it does
MACLookup.app searches MAC prefixes and vendor names, with multirow tools, database downloads and a public lookup API.
Search by MAC/OUI or vendor, use multirow search, or download JSON or CSV for a local reference. MACLookup attributes its database to IEEE and Wireshark manufacturer data and displays an update date. Its public API is free; V2 limits all users to 10 requests per second and 25 K requests per 6 hours. Existing legacy key holders retain higher limits until April 2027, while new key registrations are closed. Honor rate-limit and Retry-After headers, and cache repeated lookups. A downloaded database remains a snapshot, and a registry match identifies an assigned block rather than a unique physical device or user.
Strengths
- Search by address or vendor
- Downloadable database formats
Watch out for
- A registry match is not a unique device identity
