What it does

MagicPattern is a browser toolbox for patterned backgrounds, gradients and image effects. It can save graphics for later changes and reuse custom colours or uploaded brand elements. Free tools sit alongside paid subscriptions and passes, with output formats depending on the selected generator.

Build around a set of shapes

The geometric generator starts from prepared shape packs or uploaded SVG elements. Adjust grid density, padding, spacing and rotation, then press Space to create another arrangement. Individual tiles can also be edited, which helps when one part of an otherwise useful composition needs a change.

That generator exports SVG, CSS, PNG, JPG and animated GIF. Other tools differ: the social-media editor produces PNG and JPG, so check the tool before planning a vector handoff.

Saved graphics and access periods

The paid Basic plan stores up to 100 graphics; Pro lists unlimited saved graphics. Both list commercial use. Monthly and annual subscriptions are available, as are three- and six-month passes. Those passes expire after their stated period rather than granting permanent access.

The pricing FAQ limits refunds to requests within 24 hours when no graphics have been exported.

Strengths

  • Uploaded SVG shapes can form a custom pattern set
  • Individual tiles can be adjusted after generating an arrangement
  • Saved graphics can be revisited across devices

Watch out for

  • Export formats vary by generator
  • Basic limits saved graphics to 100
  • Fixed-duration passes expire

Best for

  • Coordinated geometric artwork for a campaign
  • Backgrounds built from an existing set of brand shapes
