What it does

Magic Poser is a figure-reference application with draggable body controls, preset poses, props and adjustable lights. Free, Pro and Master differ in scene complexity, asset access and export options.

For a drawing reference, open Import/Export, select Export and choose 2D images. Set whether sky and ground are included, enable a transparent background when needed, then press Export and choose a destination for the PNG. Removing sky and ground alone leaves an opaque white background unless transparency is enabled.

Master adds the 3D object route in the same menu. Choose whether the ground is included and export the scene as OBJ for another 3D application. This is a different handoff from saving a 2D reference image.

Plan Price and included features
Free One character, unlimited props, one directional light and unlimited local scene files
Pro US$9.99 once; adds multiple characters, body morphs and additional light types
Master US$14.99 per month; adds 3D export and its wider asset library

Pro's seven-day trial requires an explicit purchase afterward; Master's trial starts a paid subscription unless cancelled.

Downgrading keeps local files, but a scene using higher-tier features or assets cannot be opened without the required access. Previously backed-up cloud files remain downloadable, which does not restore access to those scenes. The terms permit commercial use of exported user-created content while prohibiting redistribution of the publisher's assets or competing pose libraries.

Strengths

  • PNG export controls sky, ground and background transparency separately.
  • Master offers OBJ scene export in addition to image references.

Watch out for

  • Free scenes are limited to one character and one directional light.
  • Higher-tier scenes can remain stored but become unopenable after a downgrade.

Best for

  • Figure and lighting references for illustration
  • Artists needing a pose scene as an image or Master-tier OBJ output
