What it does
Mantine provides customizable React components and hooks for application interfaces. Its examples include inputs, overlays, navigation, date controls and hooks for movement and element-size behavior.
Mantine combines ordinary application controls with hooks for custom interactions. An overlay or date field can use a ready-made component, while a hook such as use-resize-observer lets a custom layout respond to an element’s measured size.
For a new project, choose a Next.js or Vite template from Getting started. Templates include the core components and hooks; forms, dates, charts, notifications and other packages are added separately. Manual setup covers package installation, PostCSS configuration, importing the required styles and wrapping the application in MantineProvider. Server-rendered applications also need the documented colour-scheme setup to avoid hydration warnings.
All Mantine packages are free under the MIT licence, including commercial use. Package installation needs no Mantine account; GitHub’s Use this template shortcut needs a GitHub login. The linked Figma kits are community projects, so they may not match the current component version.
Strengths
- Application controls and lower-level hooks are documented together.
- Separate packages cover forms, dates, charts and other specific interface needs.
- The packages are free for commercial and non-commercial use.
Watch out for
- Additional component packages need their own installation and, where specified, CSS imports.
- The linked Figma kits are community-maintained and may lag behind the library.
Best for
- React teams combining ready-made controls with custom interactions
