Map Developers groups free area, radius, distance and location tools separately from custom mapping services and its Maptive partner trial. The area tool finds a place by address or latitude,longitude, then adds boundary points with live area and perimeter output. New/Edit/Remove controls revise the active shape, and a return link preserves a way back to that map. The page calls its area approximate. For roofs, it warns that image angle and slope can distort measurements: outline points at one elevation, handle multiple levels separately and relate footprint to roof angle. The site also offers embedding, while explicitly identifying itself as independent of Google Maps.
