What it does
WoRMS provides classification and catalogue information for marine names, with taxon additions and citation guidance.
Look up a marine name when you need its place in a maintained classification. WoRMS states that it reflects published scientific knowledge rather than making new taxonomic decisions, a useful boundary when interpreting a result. Follow its citation guidance when recording a lookup for a report or specimen-related project.
