What it does
Massive provides market-data APIs, WebSocket streams and bulk files for financial applications. Its stock offering covers US equities, with a free end-of-day tier and paid plans for longer histories or fresher data. Other asset classes and business licences have separate pricing.
Stocks: history and delay change by plan
| Plan | Stock data scope |
|---|---|
| Basic, free | Five API calls per minute and two years of end-of-day history |
| Starter, US$29 monthly | Five years of history and 15-minute-delayed data |
| Developer, US$79 monthly | Ten years of history, including trades, with a 15-minute delay |
| Advanced, US$199 monthly | More than 20 years of history, real-time data, quotes and financial ratios |
These are individual-use plans billed monthly. Business use has a separate pricing route.
Get your API key starts account registration; the free tier does not require a credit card. REST endpoints suit individual queries, while paid flat-file access helps with large historical downloads. WebSockets provide streaming access on eligible plans. Select the asset class first, since a stock subscription does not establish access to options or futures.
Strengths
- Bulk files complement REST and streaming access
- Stock plans state both historical depth and data delay
Watch out for
- Free stock access is limited to end-of-day data and five calls per minute
- Business use requires a different licence from the individual plans
Best for
- Developers loading US stock history
- Applications that need both downloads and streaming data
