What it does
Material Web supplies Material 3 controls as web components, including buttons, text fields, checkboxes and dialogs. The @material/web package is open source under Apache 2.0 and can be installed without a product account. The project currently remains in maintenance mode while seeking new maintainers.
Material Web’s Quick Start demonstrates a form with a checkbox, radio buttons, a text field and a reset button. A CDN example lets developers include the library directly for a prototype. The production route installs @material/web, imports the required component definitions and uses their custom HTML tags.
The guide then shows how to bundle those imports with Rollup. Theme references cover colour, typography and shape, while the site’s Theme Controls expose a source hex colour and light or dark display.
The maintenance-mode notice is prominent on both the site and repository. It remains available under Apache 2.0, but a team choosing it as a new dependency should account for that status. Angular users are directed to Angular Material instead.
