What it does
MathWorld provides mathematical reference entries across algebra, geometry, analysis, probability and other branches.
If you know the name of a mathematical object, search it directly; otherwise browse its subject branch. The distinction between discrete mathematics, analysis and other areas helps narrow an unfamiliar term. MathWorld is useful beside a textbook when a definition interrupts your reading. It is a separate reference work from WolframAlpha's computational query service.
