What it does
Matita Icons draws interface symbols from geometric primitives, with sketch, pencil and exact output plus a controllable wobble setting.
Matita gives interface symbols a sketchbook character without making their appearance random on every render. Each named glyph is drawn from a small set of geometric primitives; overlapping corners and overshooting lines produce the hand-drawn treatment consistently.
The wobble control moves a glyph from the full sketch effect to exact geometry at zero. React components expose size, color and stroke settings, while JavaScript can return an SVG string. Ready-made sketch, pencil and exact SVG files, plus a sprite, offer a route for other stacks. This works well for planning tools or creative interfaces where the drawing style contributes to the product's tone.
Pencil components need the accompanying CSS for grain; the prepared pencil SVG files include that treatment. Keep this distinction in mind when moving an icon from a component preview into a static asset. The package is free and MIT licensed, with no paid-only portion of the published set.
Strengths
- Wobble can move the same glyph between sketch and exact geometry.
- Ready-made SVG variants and component use are both supported.
Watch out for
- Component-based pencil grain requires the accompanying CSS.
Best for
- Sketch-like planning and creative interfaces
