What it does
Cinema 4D combines modelling, animation, simulation and rendering. Its MoGraph tools and connected After Effects workflow are positioned for motion design and animated visual work. A paid subscription follows the 14-day Maxon One trial.
Cinema 4D is a 3D production environment with a strong motion-design workflow. MoGraph combines cloners, effectors, fields and distribution controls to animate repeated objects. Parametric modelling, deformers and spline tools keep forms editable, while character templates, keyframes and motion capture support other animation tasks.
The same scene can move through simulation, lighting and rendering. Redshift is included with a Cinema 4D subscription, and the C4D plan includes five Team Render nodes. Cineware connects scenes to After Effects and Unreal Engine. Exchange formats include OBJ, FBX, Alembic, USD and glTF, alongside CAD formats such as STEP.
A MyMaxon account is required. The Maxon App installs products, manages licence activation and offers a 14-day Maxon One trial containing Cinema 4D and Redshift. Trials cover the latest releases only. Desktop access is available on Windows and macOS; the separately announced iPad edition is still described as forthcoming.
