What it does
Maya Bank provides deposit accounts through the Maya app, including savings, Personal Goals, business deposits and term-based accounts. Personal Goals adds a name, target amount and due date to money set aside for a purpose. The savings account has no monthly maintenance fee or minimum balance.
Maya Bank’s deposits share an app with the wider Maya wallet and payment services, but the balances have different roles. To begin saving, upgrade the Maya account with accepted identification, open Savings, select Start Maya Savings, and fund it from the wallet or an external bank.
Give each goal a due date
On the Savings dashboard, select Create a personal goal now. Enter a name, amount and date, then add money from Maya Savings, the wallet or another bank. Up to five goals can be active, with due dates no more than 180 days away. Their progress appears together on the dashboard.
Each goal earns interest only on its first ₱100,000. To use the money before the due date, cancel the goal in the app. Deposits and accrued interest, after applicable tax, return to the holder’s Maya Savings account. If that savings account has become dormant, it must be reactivated before the proceeds can transfer automatically.
Maya Savings has no monthly maintenance fee or minimum balance. Wallet-to-savings and transfers between Maya Savings customers are free. External transfers use PESONet or InstaPay, with service charges depending on the route. Personal Goals should also be distinguished from Time Deposit Plus, whose early cancellation can incur fees and documentary stamp tax.
Maya Bank, Inc. provides the deposit products; other services within the Maya app may have separate providers and terms.
