What it does
Mayan exchanges tokens across supported blockchains and supplies swap tools for wallets and apps. Its website lets you choose the asset to send and the token and network to receive on; developers can add the same flow through a software toolkit or API. Charges and refund arrangements depend on the route.
What to check in a Mayan quote
Connect a wallet at the Mayan swap app, pick the sending token and network, then select the receiving network and token. The quote distinguishes the expected receipt from the minimum amount you accept. Check its price impact before confirming the wallet transaction. Mayan Explorer lets you follow a swap using its transaction hash or your wallet address.
Swift routes have no Mayan protocol fee. Other routes can charge one, and a third-party interface may add a referral fee. Relayer charges, which pay for processing on other networks, also depend on the route. A refund can have a separate charge.
A refund may arrive as a different token
Each order has an expiry time. If it cannot be filled by then, its refund follows that route's rules. Swift returns funds on the originating network, sometimes as the asset into which your original token was converted. MCTP and Fast MCTP routes return USDC, less the refund charge, to the recipient on the destination network. They do not send the original token back to the starting wallet.
Adding swaps to an app
Mayan's developer quickstart uses Node 22 or later and a funded wallet with native tokens for network fees. Request quotes with the swap toolkit, present the expected and minimum receipts, sign the chosen route, and track its transaction hash through the Explorer API, the interface for checking swap status. Slippage tolerance can be automatic or supplied explicitly. The recipient address must belong to the destination network.
Use requires legal capacity and the local age of majority. Mayan excludes sanctioned people and comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions under its terms. Mayan also says it screens transactions and may block flagged addresses. Token prices can change during a swap, and a quoted minimum does not remove software or blockchain risk.
Strengths
- Shows the expected receipt, minimum receipt and price impact before signing
- Developer flow covers quoting, execution and completed or refunded status
Watch out for
- An expired cross-chain swap can return USDC on the destination network instead of the original asset
- Terms restrict sanctioned users and jurisdictions
Best for
- Wallet users comparing a swap between supported networks
- Developers adding cross-chain transactions and status tracking to an app
