What it does
MechaniCalc offers web calculators for beams, bolted joints, bolt patterns, lugs, buckling, fracture and related mechanical calculations.
MechaniCalc's beam workflow defines geometry/material, point forces or moments, distributed loads and translational/rotational constraints. Load positions are measured from the left end; distributed values use force per length. Outputs include reactions, shear/moment, stress and deflection plots and tables. The deformed mesh is deliberately exaggerated for viewing. Free use needs no login but is limited to predefined materials/sections without saved inputs or reports. Subscription adds custom definitions, saved files and reports; monthly/annual plans renew unless cancelled, while semester access expires. Documentation and validation examples explain the method, without replacing a check that the beam model matches the design.
