What it does
MediaConch checks preservation-oriented audiovisual files, including Matroska, LPCM and FFV1, through implementation and policy checks.
Use implementation checks to examine format conformance and policy checks to apply an institution's own requirements. The project offers command-line, graphical and web interfaces, useful for individual files or batch reporting. Passing a chosen policy is evidence about that policy, not a universal quality guarantee.
