What it does
MediaInfo displays container, video, audio and tag metadata, with desktop, command-line and online routes.
Inspect the actual container, codec, dimensions, frame rate and audio streams before diagnosing why a file will not play. MediaInfo reports those properties; it does not provide a video-repair workflow. Subtitle languages and chapter details can also help check a delivery.
Choose the graphical interface for an individual file, the command line for repeated reporting or the library for an application. Reports can be exported as text, CSV or HTML. A separate MediaInfoOnline route avoids installing software; use a local package when the file should stay within your own processing environment.
Strengths
- A unified display combines container and stream metadata.
