What it does
MediaElement.js provides a common HTML5 player interface for video files, audio, adaptive streams and selected embedded services.
A site mixing direct MP4 files with hosted-service videos can use a common control layer instead of designing a different interface for each source. The project lists plugin options for functions such as casting and analytics. Its accessibility claims still need checking in the actual site integration.
