What it does

Mercury combines business checking and savings with payments, company cards and finance-team controls. Eligible U.S.-registered businesses can use its free core account, while paid plans add invoicing and other services. Banking is supplied by partner banks.

Mercury puts delegated spending beside the business’s bank activity. Permissions determine who can view, move or debit funds; approval flows and card limits help divide responsibility within a team. Accounting connections include QuickBooks, Xero and NetSuite.

Core business banking costs $0 per month, with no required minimum balance, opening fee or overdraft fee. USD ACH payments and wires are free. International payments in other currencies have a 1% conversion fee, and non-USD card transactions carry a 3% conversion fee.

Plan Subscription Main distinction
Mercury $0 per month Core banking and standard invoicing
Plus Paid subscription Recurring invoices and ACH-debit invoice collection at $1 per transaction
Pro Paid subscription Relationship manager and ACH-debit invoice collection at $0 per transaction

Who can apply

The company must be formed in the United States or a U.S. territory and have existing or planned U.S. operations. International founders can apply without U.S. citizenship or residence, subject to country and industry restrictions. Prepare formation records, IRS-issued EIN confirmation and identification for owners with at least 25% ownership and a person with operating control. A real operating address is required.

Mercury states that it is a fintech company, with banking provided by Choice Financial Group and Column N.A. Its Treasury investment service is separate from the checking and savings workflow.
