What it does

MessageGears connects an organisation's customer database to email and other messaging campaigns. Its Accelerator interface combines audience queries, personalised templates and delivery schedules, with controls for editing live journeys. Access requires a user account created by an administrator within the organisation's deployment.

The first campaign begins with a database connection and an audience query. Preview the selected population, use it as a Blueprint source and divide it into target nodes. The same audience supplies sample recipients for checking template personalisation. A marketing campaign then joins the target audience, content, sending account and schedule. This setup needs data access and a suitable query before the marketing team can select its recipients.

For an existing journey, Accelerator 26.3.3 adds one draft branch at a time. Edit and save that copy while the live journey continues, then review and promote the changes. The entry tile and journey settings cannot be changed in the draft. Promotion takes effect at the next scheduled evaluation and does not restart everyone. Pay particular attention to delays: deleting a delay removes waiting users, and shortening it can also make users exit if they have already waited longer than the new duration. The change summary lists affected tiles, omits field-level differences and is not retained after promotion.

In Admin > Users, an administrator creates each staff login with an email address, first name and last name, then assigns the appropriate roles and groups. Platform accounts themselves are provisioned by MessageGears support. Give the people preparing audiences, editing content and launching campaigns the access each task needs.

Strengths

  • Sample audience data can be used to check personalised campaign content
  • A draft branch separates journey edits from the running canvas

Watch out for

  • Draft branches cannot alter the entry tile or journey settings
  • Deleting or shortening a delay can remove users already waiting there

Best for

  • Marketing and data teams building campaigns from an existing customer database
