What it does
MetaGer combines results from multiple engines and provides an optional private-browsing route. Its current service uses a generated access key topped up with prepaid tokens instead of an email-based account.
MetaGer starts with a generated access key rather than an email-based account. Add prepaid tokens to that key, then use it on several devices. The official page says generating the key needs neither a name nor an email address.
SUMA-EV operates the metasearch service and also documents a server-side private-browser route. Ongoing access depends on the key’s token balance, so keep the key available and replenish it when needed. The published MetaGer source is identified under GNU AGPL.
Strengths
- A generated key avoids requiring an email-based search account.
- Results combine multiple search sources.
- The service documents an optional server-side private browser.
Watch out for
- Search access depends on maintaining a prepaid token balance.
Best for
- People who prefer prepaid search access over an advertising-funded model
