What it does
Meteocons is Bas Milius’s weather icon project, with fill, flat, line and monochrome styles. The current repository separates animated SVG, static SVG and Lottie packages.
Meteocons separates animated SVG, static SVG and Lottie output into three packages: @meteocons/svg, @meteocons/svg-static and @meteocons/lottie. Choose the weather condition and rendering format together. Static SVGs contain no SMIL animation, making them a direct option when a forecast display should stay still.
Fill, Flat, Line and Monochrome styles are available. An SVG can be placed in an image element, while the Lottie example loads JSON through lottie-web and controls looping and autoplay. The catalog extends to instruments, moon phases, UV levels and alerts.
CDN paths identify a version, format, style and icon name. Public package installation needs no Meteocons account, and the artwork is free under MIT. Rebuilding the author’s Figma export pipeline is a separate development task requiring a Figma token; it is unnecessary for using the published assets.
Strengths
- Static SVG is packaged separately from animated SVG and Lottie.
- Four visual styles support different weather presentation needs.
Watch out for
- Animated and static output use different packages and asset paths.
Best for
- Weather dashboards
- Forecast cards and environmental displays
