What it does

Metrobank’s Philippine app handles deposit-account transfers, bills and mobile load, with separate credit-card facilities. Its eSavings account can be opened online by eligible Filipino adults without a minimum balance. Account verification affects deposit limits and access to a debit card.

Open eSavings from your phone

You must be a Filipino citizen aged 18 or older, with an active email address, mobile number and an accepted original government ID. eSavings is for new individual customers; joint accounts and customers with an existing Metrobank savings, checking or payroll account are excluded. Online opening is available daily from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Successful applicants first receive a semi-verified account by email. This has a PHP 50,000 incoming-deposit limit per month and a PHP 50,000 maximum balance. Fully verified accounts remove those deposit and balance caps. Outgoing payments are unavailable for 24 hours after enrollment.

Fees and transfer limits

There is no maintaining-balance requirement, below-balance fee or dormancy fee for eSavings. The first debit card is free; after full verification, request it through Metrobank's listed support email and collect it from a branch. Over-the-counter withdrawals cost PHP 25, and closing the account within a month costs PHP 200.

Metrobank's July 2026 update makes InstaPay and PESONet transfers through the app free. InstaPay allows PHP 50,000 per transfer and PHP 100,000 per day; PESONet allows PHP 200,000 per day.

Keep the funding account in view

Use the deposit-account route for ordinary bank transfers. Bill payment can draw on a deposit account or a credit card, depending on the selected service. PayNow and Cash2Go use credit-card funds, so they are different from sending money already held in savings.

The app also has a customizable dashboard, light and dark display modes, and AppKey verification using face or fingerprint recognition.
