Opening a Metro Bank Current Account
Use Apply online now on the Current Account page or visit a store. Prepare the identity and address documents listed for your circumstances. For UK, EEA and Swiss nationals, Metro Bank accepts documents such as a valid passport or UK driving licence; requirements differ for online and store applications. Monthly cost and card fees
There is no monthly maintenance fee and no minimum account balance. Spending in a foreign currency outside the UK carries a 2.99% non-sterling transaction fee. A foreign-currency cash withdrawal outside the UK adds £1.50 to that percentage charge.
The mobile app’s Insights tool shows how you spend, and notifications flag account activity. Metro Bank also provides a store locator for customers who need in-person support. Business accounts have their own prices and conditions.
