What it does
Midtrans accepts Indonesian bank transfers, QRIS payments, wallets and cards through links, plugins or custom checkout. Its invoicing tools add quotations, payment instructions and reminders to the collection process. Merchants register and activate the account before live use, with fees charged by payment method.
For customer billing, open Dashboard > Invoicing in the Production environment. Use Start set up to configure the document defaults, then prepare the customer, dates, invoice number and payment route. Quotations can become invoices once the work is agreed. Customer email is needed for reminders.
A payment link offers several enabled methods at checkout. A direct virtual-account number suits a customer paying by bank transfer, while QRIS puts a payment code on the invoice. Each invoice uses one of these collection routes. An overdue invoice can still be payable if its payment method has not expired.
Posted Indonesian transaction rates
| Method | Published fee |
|---|---|
| Listed bank transfers | IDR4,000 |
| Cards | 2.9% + IDR2,000 |
| GoPay | 2% |
| QRIS | 0.7% |
| DANA or OVO | 1.5% |
Gaming and digital-product businesses can have different wallet or QRIS rates. Confirm the applicable merchant schedule and tax treatment when activating the methods.
Signup begins with email confirmation and a sandbox for simulated transactions. Individual applicants provide Indonesian identity documents, or a passport and residence permit for the foreign-national route. Companies provide business, tax and director documents. A social-media page or product catalogue can substitute for a website in the registration guidance.
After activation, + Payment Method in Production shows further methods you can request, their documents and any additional agreement. The available list depends on the business entity, so a method advertised on the main site is not automatically enabled for every merchant.
