What it does
Monefy records purchases and income without connecting a bank, with manual statement imports and a spending chart. Its free core works on iOS and Android; optional Google Drive or Dropbox sync can share records across phones. Premium adds unlimited accounts, recurring transactions and advanced filters.
Monefy focuses on entering a purchase when it happens. Its manual workflow and statement imports avoid making a bank connection part of setup. The free core covers everyday tracking; the optional upgrade adds unlimited accounts, recurring entries and advanced filters. On iOS, Premium is an automatically renewing subscription purchased through Apple.
To record a purchase, use the red minus button, enter the amount, choose the account and select a category icon. The green plus button records income. A date and note help distinguish a delayed entry from today’s spending. Category edits also affect older transactions using that category, so renaming one changes how the history is described.
One budget across phones
In Settings, Synchronization, authorize Google Drive or Dropbox. Use the same cloud account on the other phone. Turning synchronization off leaves local records intact. No separate app account is needed for local entry; a provider account is needed for optional sync.
For accounts in different currencies, set the conversion rate yourself in Currencies. The help guide says a missing rate falls back to one to one, so an unset rate can make a combined total misleading.
Strengths
- No bank connection is needed for expense entry or statement imports.
- Optional Google Drive or Dropbox sync works across iOS and Android.
- Manual backup and restore provide another way to move records.
Watch out for
- Unlimited accounts, recurring transactions and advanced filters require Premium.
- Currency conversion rates must be entered manually; an absent rate uses one to one.
Best for
- People who prefer recording purchases without connecting a bank
- Partners sharing expense records through their own cloud account
