What it does

Motrix is a download manager for HTTP, FTP, BitTorrent and magnet links, presenting transfer tasks and connection controls in one interface.

Add a task, paste links one per line or select a torrent, choose Save to and click Download. Motrix gives each link its own queue entry and exposes per-task filename, connection, header, credential and proxy settings; torrent tasks have download/upload limits and seed-ratio controls. Removing a saved-folder shortcut does not delete the folder or files. Motrix 2 includes its engine and targets current 64-bit Windows, macOS and Linux systems. Its download is a beta, and the getting-started guide says migration from Motrix 1 is not yet supported, so preserve the older profile before switching.

Strengths

  • Unified task overview
  • Plugin system for additional download workflows

Watch out for

  • Some workflows depend on separately selected plugins
