What it does
Mozilla VPN offers a subscription for desktop and mobile systems, with multihop routing and a Firefox extension that adds website-specific settings on Windows.
The Firefox connection is Mozilla VPN's most distinctive workflow. Its extension can apply website-specific VPN settings on Windows, while the underlying VPN covers the device. That is useful when a particular site needs a different route from the rest of your browsing. The homepage is explicit about the Windows limitation for that extension.
A subscription covers up to five devices and the listed operating systems include Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux. The extension and the VPN should be evaluated as related components with different jobs.
Mozilla's notice separates network activity from its own service records. It says neither Mozilla nor Mullvad keeps logs of the VPN's network activity. Technical records are different: the subscription-services notice describes IP addresses in server logs for ninety days, along with VPN client/device information. Interaction telemetry is disabled by default and can be enabled separately.
